Rockville Centre, NY (October 30, 2020): Rockville Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is thrilled to announce the “window” wedding celebration of the daughter of a beloved Rockville community resident.

The bride, 33-year-old Louisa Mattera, is the daughter of Ann O’Brien, and Mattera and her groom, 34-year-old David Urban, are traveling hundreds of miles from Pennsylvania to ensure that O’Brien can be a part of their very special day. The happy couple, both natives of Queens, New York met through mutual friends and were engaged on September 4, 2018. Mattera, a stay-at-home mother, and Urban, a business owner, now residents of Pennsylvania, originally planned for their momentous day on September 4th of this year, but had to reschedule due to the COVID-19 pandemic. “We pushed back our wedding day one year to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our guests in light of the COVID-19 pandemic,” shared Mattera. The couple decided to reach out to the team at Rockville Rehab for the chance to celebrate with my mom now to ensure that she could be a part of our special day. “The team at Rockville have been nothing short of exceptional,” stated Mattera. She continued, “the staff at Rockville have been so accommodating and amazing to ensure that this would even be possible, we are so thankful,” concluded Mattera and Urban.

“Our entire team here at Rockville feels so honored to share this event with Ms. O’Brien, her daughter, her new son-in-law, and the entire family,” shared Susan Welge, Administrator of Rockville Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. “During a year which has brought the world so many challenges, this is an opportunity to pause and share in each other’s company the beauty in life. Our dedicated team has displayed incredible levels of heroism this year, as we have always done, and words cannot express the love and excitement we have for Ms. O’Brien and her family on this momentous day,” continued Welge.

Why a Window Wedding? In order to be in strict compliance with Department of Health and New York State COVID-19 guidance, Rockville Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is pleased to support this beautiful opportunity for one of their beloved residents to be a part of this incredibly momentous day. The officiant of the ceremony will be Councilman Anthony D’Esposito, of the Town of Hempstead.

“This celebration, a new union, with generations of family members coming together to commemorate the event is truly meaningful for all who touch our community,” shared Ashley Romano, Chief Experience Officer. “What a wonderful occasion to embrace this unity.”
